RHUBARB CHICKEN CURRY
Very easy, creamy and delicious sweet and sour rhubarb and chicken curry. Lovingly paired with a Côtes du Rhône.
A unique and tasty experience
Rhubarb is a unique and versatile ingredient that adds a distinct acidic flavour to any dish. This particular recipe, an “uber easy” rhubarb chicken curry, is perfect for those who appreciate the tangy taste of this vegetable (yes, rhubarb is a vegetable;). I recently served this meal to my French friends, and they were delighted by the subtle sweetness and sourness of the dish. It is the perfect balance of aromas that makes this culinary delicacy so special.
Rhubarb: a storied ingredient
Rhubarb has a rich history, dating back to ancient China where it was used for medicinal purposes. It was later introduced to Europe in the 16th century, where it quickly became a popular ingredient in pies and jams. Today, it is used in a variety of dishes, both sweet and savoury. The use of rhubarb in curry may seem unconventional, but it adds a unique sour depth that is sure to impress.
The perfect pairing
The Rhône Valley in France is known for its wine production, and it is the perfect pairing for this curry treat. The Côtes du Rhône Villages Saint-Pantaléon les vignes is a white wine that complements the acidity of the rhubarb and the spices in the curry. This wine, specifically grown in the Rhône Valley, is ideal with this recipe as it has a similar acidity and sweetness.
A symphony of palate
The art of wine pairing is something that has been studied and perfected over centuries. Wine and food have always gone hand in hand, and the perfect pairing can elevate a dish to new heights. The acidity of the rhubarb in this rhubarb and chicken curry pairs perfectly with the acidity of the Côtes du Rhône Villages Saint-Pantaléon les vignes, creating a symphony of savours in your mouth.
