ICED YOGURT WITH MELON AND ROSEMARY
Iced yogurt with melon and rosemary : share this easy-peasy recipe with friends and family for a taste of France.
Summer time Heat
When the sun beats down mercilessly on the rolling hills of my countryside in the Lot department, it sometimes feels as if there is not a single breath of fresh air to be found. The heat can be oppressive, and it’s enough to make even the most stalwart of locals wilt. But fear not, for I have discovered the perfect way to beat the heat: an iced yogurt with a touch of rosemary.
Yogurt: A Versatile Ingredient with a Rich History
The origins of yogurt are shrouded in mystery, but it is thought to have been consumed for thousands of years, with evidence of its production dating back to ancient times when the first milk-producing animals were domesticated. Today, yogurt is enjoyed all over the world, and is known for its creamy texture and probiotic properties. It is a versatile ingredient that can be used in sweet and savoury dishes alike, making it the perfect addition to any food blogger’s repertoire like mine.
A Necessity-Based Recipe
For my iced yogurt with rosemary, I turned to my own fridge and garden for inspiration. Melons were the only fruit I had on hand (and believe me, they are gorgeous in my hometown), and rosemary was growing in my garden in a rather strange state. But sometimes the best recipes are born out of necessity, and this one is no exception.
To create this delicious treat, I combined creamy yogurt with the juicy sweetness of melons and the earthy aroma of rosemary. The result is a refreshing and healthy dessert that is perfect for a hot summer day.
A Modern Twist on Traditional Ingredients
In creating this recipe, I have taken these very easy to find ingredients and given them a modern twist. The addition of yogurt not only adds a creamy texture, but also brings a healthy dose of probiotics to the mix. Rosemary, meanwhile, adds a subtle complexity to the recipe, elevating it from a simple summer dessert to something truly special.
So, the next time you find yourself sweltering in the heat, reach for some melons and yogurt, and do not forget the rosemary. This iced yogurt with rosemary is the perfect way to beat the heat . And who knows, you might even discover a new favourite ingredient along the way…
