MARRON GLACE GRANITE

This marron glace granite is not a chestnut ice-cream but a “trou Normand” as we said in France, a palate cleanser as you said in English! The “trou Normand” has its roots in Normandy 400 years ago…

This very good palate cleanser made with marron glace may be used as well at the end of a pantagruelian meal, a dessert made in no time and with 2 ingredients only!

MARRON GLACE GRANITE
Serves 4

15 cl water
5 cl chestnut liquor (or chestnut syrup)
Around 200 g broken marrons glacés

Combine the water and liquor in a frozen-proof bowl.
Add the marrons and stir well.
Pour the preparation in a freezer-proof container.
Set aside in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
Stir every 30 minutes with a fork.
