ORANGE MARMALADE COOKIES

Have you ever tried my easy-peasy and absolutely delicious marmalade cookies ? The sunshine of sweet moments…

A Cookie’s Transformation

The marmalade, with its typical taste, has become an ever-inspiring product in my culinary repertoire. Over time, I have explored the myriad possibilities of this preserve, crafting both sweet and savoury dishes that celebrate its exquisite taste.

The transition from marmalade on toast to marmalade cookies is a lovely evolution you must absolutely tried!

The Sweet Evolution of Marmalade

Marmalade, a citrus fruit preserve, has a rich history dating back to ancient Greece and Rome. Its name, “marmalade,” is derived from the Portuguese word “marmelos,” which originally denoted a quince paste with a texture akin to the later orange spread we now associate with marmalade. This sweet spread gained commercial popularity in the late 18th century.

The Ancient Origins of Cookies

Cookies has a captivating and ancient history, with their origins dating back to Persia in the 7th century AD. These early cookies likely served as test cakes used by bakers to gauge oven temperatures. As time passed, cookies journeyed across Europe, primarily through the Muslim conquest of Spain, becoming a popular treat among people from all walks of life by the 14th century. The iconic gingerbread man, with its distinctive figure shape, made its documented debut at the court of Elizabeth I of England during the 16th century.

The Perfect treat

You may enjoy my marmalade cookies on various occasions. Whether it is a cozy evening by the fireplace, a holiday gathering, or a simple afternoon tea, these cookies complement them all. The citrusy sweetness of the marmalade melds harmoniously with the buttery richness of the cookie is so delicious!

Beyond the boundaries of cookies, marmalade continues to surprise and inspire me. Its versatility in the kitchen knows no limits. For me, it adds a layer of depth to any dish. The marmalade, for me, is not just a spread; it is a culinary companion on an endless adventure…
