LIMONCELLO GRANITE WITH TARRAGON
A Refreshing Summer Delight: Limoncello with Tarragon Granite
When it comes to my summer buffets, It is impossible for me not to present a refreshing granite! The icy, slushy texture of this Italian dessert is the perfect antidote to sweltering heat and leaves a deliciously invigorating taste on the palate. And my friends will definitely agree with me. So, it’s in Italy and more precisely in Capri that we are going to go through this granite which between you and I, is terribly addictive …
The History of Granite
Granite is a frozen dessert that has been enjoyed in Italy for centuries. It originated in Sicily and was originally made by mixing snow with fruit juices and sugar. This simple yet delicious dessert eventually spread throughout Italy and evolved over time to include a wide variety of flavors and ingredients. Today, granite is a popular summer dessert that can be found in many Italian restaurants and homes.
Limoncello: A Taste of Southern Italy
Limoncello is a sweet, lemon-flavored liqueur that is often enjoyed as an after-dinner drink in Italy. It is made from the zest of lemons, alcohol, water, and sugar, and is typically served chilled. Limoncello is a popular drink in the southern regions of Italy, particularly in the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri where it has been created.
Tarragon: A Flavourful Herb
Tarragon is a perennial herb that is commonly used in my French cuisine. It has a distinct anise-like flavour that pairs well with fish, chicken, and eggs. Tarragon is also used to enhance vinegar and is a key ingredient in the famous French sauce, Béarnaise.
Addictive and mouth-watering
The combination of sweet Limoncello and tarragon creates a truly unique and delicious dessert. The tartness of the Limoncello is perfectly balanced by the herbal notes of the tarragon, while the icy texture of the granite adds a refreshing twist. This lovely dessert is perfect for enjoying on a hot and lazy day with friends by the pool…
