MEDITERRANEAN APERITIF BOARD

Impress your family and friends with my easy-peasy Mediterranean aperitif board that’s both refined and delicious.

The Art of the Mediterranean Aperitif Board

As the first lockdown hit us hard, we all yearned for a sense of normalcy, a taste of something familiar. For me, it was a longing for the flavors and aromas of my beloved country, France. It was then that my daughter surprised me with a beautiful “planche,” an aperitif board that lifted my spirits and transported me to a place of comfort and warmth. From that moment on, I made it a habit to prepare aperitif boards for my guests, sharing a piece of my culture with every spread.

Lift Your Spirits with a Beautiful Aperitif Board

Creating an aperitif board is easy, it just requires a keen eye for detail, balance, and colour. A perfect board should be a harmonious blend of textures that come together in a beautiful and appetizing way. When it comes to Mediterranean aperitif boards, the possibilities are endless, with an abundance of ingredients that are rich in taste and tradition.

Through the Flavours of the Mediterranean

When creating a Mediterranean aperitif board, start with a base of crackers, or sliced baguette. Then, add an assortment of cured meats, such as coppa, rosette from Lyon sausage, Parma ham and chorizo.

No Mediterranean aperitif board is complete without some cod brandade from Nimes…

To add a touch of freshness to the board, include a variety of radishes, cucumber, caper flowers, etc…

So, the next time you are looking for an appetizer that’s both easy and sophisticated, try creating a Mediterranean aperitif board that will delight your guests and transport them to the sun-kissed shores of the amazing Mediterranean…
