GNOCCHI WITH LEEK AND HAZELNUT
In my supersonic repertoire, gnocchi always has a good place as it takes only 2 minutes to be cooked! And you may decline nearly to infinity the ingredients you will add to them. Today I come with a lovely “fondue de poireaux” as we say in France or a kind of leek compote which is as you may guess, heavenly. I paired it with hazelnuts because I only have those waiting patiently in my cupboard…
Wine pairing : Tursan (Red) from the South West.
Serves 2
400 g fresh gnocchi (homemade or not)
2 leeks minced
1 chopped shallot
1 generous tbsp of crème fraîche
A few hazelnuts
Olive oil
In a pan, soften the shallot in a little bit of olive oil.
Add the leeks and cook for a further 10 minutes,
stirring from time to time.
Cook the gnocchi in a large saucepan filled with
boiling water for 3 minutes only.
In the pan, put the crème fraîche and combine
well.
Serve the gnocchi with the leeks mixture and
some hazelnuts.
