FIG AND HONEY CRUMBLE

I do like the automn season for the beautiful comforting (but not too comforting) ingredients it brings! And fig is one of them. Such a gorgeous fruit which you can find nearly everywhere in the South of France, ready to be picked up from the trees and devour! Sweet or salted, this versatile fruit in its fresh version is an absolute gem in cooking : have you ever tried it in a smoothie version (here), in a pie with mint Rocamadour cheese (here), or why not warm with a lovely Bleu d’Auvergne (here) ?
But for now, it will be in a lovely crumble with honey? Here you are…

FIG AND HONEY CRUMBLE
Serves 4

500 g fresh figs cut in pieces
150 g flour
120 g melted butter
60 g brown caster sugar
2 tbsp of honey

In a pan, gently soften the figs with a little bit of butter and the honey for 5 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 200 °C.
In a bowl, combine the flour with the sugar and the melted butter.
Dispose the figs preparation in a lined baking tray.
Add the crumble on top of it.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
