Super simple and healthy saag paneer curry served with a naan bread and a lovely white wine from Beaujolais.

Saag Paneer: A timeless vegetarian recipe from India

Saag paneer is a classic vegetarian recipe that has its roots in India. The dish is made by cooking spinach and combining it with fried paneer cheese. This creates a well-balanced dish that is absolutely delicious. The dish is popular in many parts of the world and is a must for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

What is paneer?

Paneer is a cheese from India that has a firm tofu-like consistency. It has a mild taste, making it a favorite among children. When paired with spices, it becomes a true gem. If you cannot find paneer in your local grocery store, tofu can be used as a substitute.

Making saag paneer is incredibly easy. The dish is a perfect solution for those Sunday night dinner dilemmas, where you are trying to come up with a quick and delicious meal that everyone will love. The dish is also a great option for those who are looking for a flavourful, vegetarian-friendly meal.

The combination of spinach and paneer creates a dish that is both nutritious and delicious. The spinach provides vitamins and minerals, while the paneer provides protein. This makes saag paneer a well-rounded meal that is perfect for a quick and easy dinner.

The best of Beaujolais

The crisp and refreshing taste of the white wine from Beaujolais complement and balance out the spices in the dish, making it a harmonious and enjoyable dining experience.

Beaujolais Blanc wines are produced in Beaujolais from the Chardonnay grape variety. The wines are characterized by their bright acidity and crisp fruit aromas like melon and pear, making them the perfect pairing for dishes like saag paneer.

Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just enjoy a good glass with your meal, this pairing of saag paneer and white wine from Beaujolais is a must-try. So, next time you sit down to enjoy a delicious plate of saag paneer, make sure to have a bottle of Beaujolais white on hand…
