MARRON GLACE CAKE
Oh my God! This cake is screaming Christmas, no less! I have tasted it at a friend’s house and since, it is my favorite to bake when Christmas is around the corner (and that I can find candied chestnut of course…). You may obviously omit the Cointreau, but it really gives a lovely orange taste which is a match in heaven with chestnuts. If you do not already know what to cook for your Christmas dessert, don’t go further, the recipe is here!
MARRON GLACE CAKE
Serves 6
60 g brown caster sugar
5 cl sunflower oil
400 g chestnut paste
200 g crumbled candied chestnuts
2 eggs
4 cl Cointreau
40 g icing sugar
Preheat your oven to 180 °C.
In a bowl, mix the eggs with the caster sugar, oil and the flour.
Add the chestnut paste and the glazed chestnuts. Combine well.
Pour the mixture in a cake mould buttered and lined and pop in the oven for 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the Cointreau with the icing sugar.
Once cooked, cover the cake with this icing preparation.
Best enjoyed the day after!
