AUTHENTIC LEBANESE TABBOULEH SALAD

Vegan, easy and cheerful authentic Lebanese tabbouleh salad recipe made with bulgur, fresh mint and flat parsley.

A Tasty Trip Through Time: The History of Tabbouleh

Tabbouleh, an essential dish in the Levantine cuisine, is a refreshing, healthy and incredibly delicious salad that should be a part of every summer table. As someone who loves to eat tabbouleh nearly every day, I can confidently say that this is one of the best recipes out there. I often bring batches of this dish to my friends’ parties, and it is always a hit. People can’t get enough of its fresh and light flavour.

Tabbouleh is not just a salad, but a symbol of the Levantine culture, a cuisine that has been passed down from generations and has a rich history.

Fresh, and Vegan: The Perfect Salad

Tabbouleh is also a vegan and raw dish, making it the perfect choice for anyone looking for a healthy, low-calorie option. The bulgur, which is the key ingredient in this dish, is raw and only cooked by the lemon juice, preserving all of its natural nutrients. This is what makes tabbouleh not only delicious but incredibly nutritious.

One of the secrets to making a great tabbouleh is to use flat parsley. This might sound like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in the final product. Flat parsley has a more delicate aroma and a softer texture, making it the perfect choice for this dish. Do not make the mistake of using curly parsley as it simply won’t work. Trust me on this one!

A Toast to Refreshment: The Perfect Wine for Tabbouleh

Languedoc-Roussillon is a wine region located in the south of France, stretching from the Mediterranean coast to the Pyrenees Mountains. This region is well-known for producing some of the finest Rosé wines in the world, including the Collioures variety.

A Glimpse into the Rich Wine Culture of French Catalonia

Collioure Rosé wines, renowned for their supple texture and lively aromas, are typically crafted from a blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes. This exquisite combination creates a wine that boasts fruity notes and a touch of spice, making it an ideal choice for wine enthusiasts who appreciate a well-rounded, full-bodied wine.

The Collioure AOC: A Unique Appellation for French Wines

The Collioure AOC is a well-established appellation for French wines, located in the Roussillon wine region of France. It is known for producing dry white, rosé, and red wines, as well as natural sweet wines such as Banyuls and Banyuls Grand Cru. The vineyards of Collioure have a rich history that dates back to the 6th century BC, when the Phoenicians and Phoceans established the first grape plantations in the region.

Grown on Steep Terraces with Remarkable aromas

Collioure Rosé grown on steep terraces overlooking the Mediterranean coast in the area known as French Catalonia, is a dry, meaty rosé with a nice acidity. It has subtle aromas of ripe black fruits and garrigue, with remarkable aromas that linger on the palate. This delightful wine is a testament to the rich wine culture of French Catalonia and the region’s unique terroir, which produces wines that are both complex and delicious.

In addition to its delicious taste, Collioures Rosé is also a versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of dishes like this delicious taboulleh. So, whether you’re hosting a summer gathering or simply enjoying a quiet night at home, this wine is the perfect choice.
